Speaking of urban surprises there was an Australian Reed warbler calling
loudly from the bushes outside the Environment entrance of the John Gorton
Building in Parkes yesterday morning early as well as at lunchtime. At
least 200 m away from any known reed patch (sculpture garden at the ANG?).
