Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of time for detailed observations today, but
today there were 6 Black Tailed Native Hens in the area on the southern end of
the main pond where they seem to have taken up residence. Lots of Purple
Swamphens, Eurasian Coot, Dusky Moorhen, Grey Teal, a couple of Black Winged
Stilts, at least one Shoveller, Pacific Black Ducks, a Darter flying overhead
and possibly the same Whistling Kite as yesterday. Didn't hear any Little
Grassbirds which were heard yesterday. Australian Reed Warblers near the
bridge. Grey Fantail, Red Wattlebird, White Plumed Honeyeater (a pair have
successfully bred near the Cygnus hide), Grey Shrike Thrush, Red Browed Finch,
Yellow Rumped Thornbill, Crimson Rosella, Silvereye, Blackbird.
I saw a female Rufous Whistler near the car park yesterday. I have seen a male
in the same area previously so they may be nesting in the area.
