LYREBIRD presentation
At least once a year we hold an Information Evening. As this year's presentation could be a rare opportunity for many people interested in our birdlife to see the "Lure of the Lyrebird" I would like to promote it amongst all the shire's landcare groups.
Maureen Baker, Tuross Lakes Preservation Group
“LURE of the LYREBIRD” Public Presentation Tuesday, 20th October, 7.30 pm The Pines, Craddock Rd. Tuross Head Mark this one on your calendars! Tuross Lakes Preservation Group (TLPG) is very pleased to announce that Don McGregor will be giving this presentation at its Annual Information Evening. He has now completed a three year study of the Superb Lyrebird in our local State Forests and his presentation (about 1 ¼ hr) will provide audio and visual back-up covering the lyrebird’s life cycle. Special emphasis is on the male’s magnificent mating display, his incredible mimicry and the hen’s nesting and rearing of the chick. Please endeavour to arrive in time to be seated by 7.30 pm. TLPG members will be holding a very quick AGM at the venue earlier in the evening but the presentation is open to the public free of charge. Although TLPG usually uses the Progress Hall for its AGM/Information Evenings it has hired The Pines on this occasion because it can provide all the equipment required for this presentation. Hence a small raffle will be held during the evening to help defray expenses. For further information phone Maureen 44 73 8800 |
