Sounds like an interesting trip and very well described......you certainly saw some good Birds,in a lifetime of Birding I have only seen one Black Tailed Godwit in this area,that at Lake Bathurst about twenty years ago,Tho I believe they are regularly seen on passage at Brough Lake..Three weeks ago I was standing in a recently ploughed Paddy Field in Sri Lanka and there were at least 120 of the Black Tails and I was looking for the Bar Tails...Strange.....as to why?I suppose they are at the limit of their range in Southern Australia...Certainly in this barren area there are more passerines than on Ainslie or Majura,vagaries of climate are not adequate to explain this...Regards,
