So far two possible IDs, the Pallid Cuckoo and a baby Galah. I know the
Pallid Cuckoo (far more irritating that this bird!) and it wasn't that
(thank Goodness), but the baby Galah sounds like a strong candidate.

This morning there was a new bird call near my house (Deakin) that I
don't remember hearing before - but too early to get up and see if I
could find the culprit. Initially it sounded quite like the first part
of a Kookaburra call, without the "laughing" part. Sort of a quick
dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah... - some times modulated in frequency a bit
(no pattern), some times monotone.
It sounded quite irritating so an initial hypothesis is that it was a
baby driving its parents mad :-)
Is that sufficient information for an ID?
Thanks
