Today just after 400pm in the ANBG there was a male (nearly mature) SCARLET HONEYEATER.  The bird flew in to a Eucalyptus in section 6 (just below the lawn with the 'Wattle Phylogeny' on it), foraged for 1-2 minutes, then continued heading ~west.  It may stick around if it finds the myriad blossoms within the gardens to its liking.  It was not associating with a mixed flock or other honeyeater spp.

Cheers,

Adam Searcy,
Macquarie
