And now a further word from that irrepressible oriental birder the honorable Mr. Me Too.
 
At Pegasus Riding, School, Holt on Sunday afternoon, I watched small black ants streaming over brickwork. Some were pilot ants. I know this because they wore wings. Later I watched about 12 Dusky Woodswallows hawking round and round. Perhaps the ants took off and had their short lived sorties snuffed out by the dusky bandits.
 
Anyone recommend a fairly comprehensive book about ants, preferably Australian ants that can be readily understood by the Layton Laypersons.
