The white-plumes have been song-flighting for about 4 weeks, attention-getting displays of minor skylarkery, the more surprising as the small singer emerges from and returns to a concealing tree

Two Dusky Woodswallows at Lake Ginninderra peninsula this pm, the first I’ve seen there since late autumn. No reed-warblers yet, unless they were skulking quietly out of the breeze. Much felling of dead and dying timber underway. White-plumed Honeyeaters particularly vocal. Quite a lot of mistletoe in flower but few honeyeaters save the resident Red Wattlebirds and White-plumes. b
