This morning out at Uriarra Crossing, in the casuarinas along with White-throated Treecreepers, were a couple of Varied Sittellas. As I neared the tree where the birds were feeding one of the sittellas crouched along a branch, perfectly still, resembling a broken branch or a piece of bark, but showing up perfectly in the binoculars. A MFF of various thornbills and fairywrens was also enjoying the morning.
