Hello Chris,

I would say almost certainly (99%) not. It does not show enough evidence of wing markings and the tail does not appear to show the white patches. These would be the distinctive things. Hooded Robins are mostly very quiet and at least as far as I know they do not ever make the most amazing song. That song and little pale patch on the shoulder suggests that it is a Golden Whistler. Especially so if the garden refers to your home in Wanniassa. A Hooded Robins is most unlikely there and the Golden Whistler is a common garden bird at this time.

Hi all
got home after a wonderful walk along the Birrigai Time Trail at Tidbinbilla on Saturday.. I think the robin convention was in full swing up there.. saw at least 40 (flames, a couple of scarlets, one red capped and a pair of hooded robins up the top near the rock shelter)... to hear the most amazing song coming from a gum in the garden. The culprit is below.. can someone please confirm that it is a female hooded robin? Pictures really poor quality..

Thanks
