The highlight was a Black-winged Stilt on the far side from Cygnus hide.  Also a family of Black Swans (2ad, 6 rather small cygnets) and a Golden-headed Cisticola. 

Riding past the turf farm Skylarks were in fine voice, as they were later in the afternoon in the grasslands opposite DFO on Canberra Avenue.

Finally a sign of the season.  On arriving home our dog became very excited and led us to two echidnas seeking privacy (of which they probably got a little less than they had hoped for) under our deck .  Apparently they mate in August so this pair were right on time.
