The heart of the FYSHWICK SEWAGE PONDS, our own little ‘Duck
Central’ as Martin might say. In the centre is the much-cited ‘tree’,
often used by raptors as a vantage point. On the left is ‘Pond 6’
as labelled under the handy system introduced by Bob Rusk. Some observers
have suggested that the ponds might be re-labelled using associations that make
the labels easier to remember. For example Pond 6 might become ‘Pond B’,
because it is the favourite of Blue-billed Ducks. However others would
prefer it was ‘Pond A’ for ‘Australasian Grebe’, with the pond on the right
becoming ‘Pond AA’ for ...
