I was a tad late late joining the Meeting on Wednesday but noticed some discussion of flowering when I arrived.  It looks from the amount of buds around that the Red Box (Eucalyptus polyanthemos) around Carwoola are going to flower very vigorously this year.  (Last year it was mainly the Yellow Box E. meliodora that performed.)  Also today i noticed that some of out Mistletoes (Ameyema sp - probably pendula, from the timing) are in flower and the flowers are being knocked off.  It will be interesting to see if any of the mistletoe specialists turn up.

Earlier in the week our pair of Tawny Frogmouths appeared, roosting very close to their nest-site of last year.  If they do nest again I will attempt to monitor the site and write it up for Canberra Bird Notes.  If others with regularly visited sites cared to share their observations with me that would be welcome.  To avoid upsetting the members of Me Too it would probably be good if most of such updates came directly to me rather than to the chatline.
