Today I did the circuit at the Bombaderry Creek Recreation Park at Nowra, which runs along beside the main Highway just north of the Shoalhaven Bridge. Access is via Narang St (see map attached).

This walk is about 5 Km long, and somewhat arduous, as it involved following the line of this creek along either side of a classic Sandstone gorge. Cliff lines averaged 50 metres high, towering above the creek.

Massive Spotted Gum trees, Turpentines and many Coachwoods along creek. Many Orchids on the rocks.

Many YF Honeyeaters, and some White napes were present, behaving in  a resident manner, not migrating through.

Surprise of the day was to see an Origma land on one of the huge rocks in front of us, while we were sitting on one of the many seats along this well-appointed track. It only stayed put for a few seconds, so it departed before I could point my camera in its direction.

The habitat is classic for this species, but given that  it is surrounded by suburbia, in Nowra/Bombaderry, it is good to see.

NSW Government, supported by local Federal Member Jo Gash, has hopes of putting a freeway through some of this park, apparently. Lets hope not.

Cheers
