Following my post yeasterday I was asked for a little more information about the technique of 'squeaking'.  Through a convoluted thought process this led me to Google "Pishing" which gave a link to  I was intrigued to see the comment that this technique doesn't work where there are no tits or chickadees.  As far as I can tell there are no tits or chickadees (in fact no members of the Paridae)  in Australia but many people seem to find pishing effective.  

Please explain?
