Hi all,
Do W-b Sea-ealges breed here in the ACT?
There is a nest on the paddock side from the Kingston foreshore (from near the last lakeside appartment on Mundaring Dr).
After seeing the raptor in the first photo closer to the wetland area on Saturday, then watching 2 others around the nest on Sunday, I thought at first these 2 may have been Little Eagles. The second photo appears to be a WBSE sitting above the nest. The two that landed on and near the nest did look quite dark and big - Could they be young WBSEs?
Of course I can't get any closer - the area is a construction site and there is a rather large island between the appartments and where the nest is. Anyone any ideas? I'll check them out again later today.
The Wedgetail was beside the road just short of Thawa - what a grand site to witness.
Cheers
Lindell
