Basically any spot along the Murrumbidgee stands a chance. For example I’ve seen Platypi several times north of Uriarra Xing, primarily early in the morning as well as at the Tharwa sandwash, along the Gudgenby in Namadgi etc.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Where to find Platypus?

Hi all,

Sorry this isn't exactly bird-related, but I was wondering whether there are any reliable spots (or at least spots where I would stand a chance) of finding a Platypus in the Canberra area (within say 1hr).

Much appreciated,

Cheers

Tobias
