I would also like to see Paul's photo. Has the duck manage to look
after the 17? Where was the other parent, her mate, and the other
parents?

I'll send you some pics privately when I get the chance. Sorry to
those who I have promised pics and haven't sent.
As at Friday afternoon there were still 17 ducklings, with 2
parents. There were always a pair with them, often with a gaggle of
young trailing each of them separately. It is also interesting that
they are usually in a 7 and 10 split, relecting the two different
broods I think?. There was also at times a second pair of adults
hanging around on the fringes, so I don't know whether these were the
second parents, or whether it was just a coincidence. As there seems
to be interest I will give an update on how many of the ducklings
survive. Hopefully better than the single duckling that survived
from 8 babies in spring from a hatching at that time. No idea
whether the same parents or not, as I can't tell them apart and they
won't answer me with their names! <grin>
