It sounds more like a "pellet" -
regurgitated material which has been regurgitated at the half-digested
stage.
Currawongs are famous for it, especially
with seeds in them.
Owls also leave them, usually with traces of
fur and small bones, and beetle wings, etc.
These are used by biologists to analyse what
they eat.
I once raised over 300 seedlings from a
single Currawong Pellet, as an experiment. Mostly Privet, some "Ink Weed", some
Pittosporums. Very interesting to know what are the " problem weed plants"
in one's local area (the ones which are spread by birds).
