You might be more familiar with the darker males, but not realise the m and f are related.
Your description is nice and accurate, as per the first link.
Common summer Butterflies, usually restricted to Citrus trees, but will also stray onto related plants, Rue, and Mexican Orange, for example.
Visiting flowers of other families is common, but they  usually are fussy where they lay their eggs, for suitable plants for the Caterpillars to feed upon.
