yesterday morning I walked through around the lake, and on Aspen Island
there were six rainbow bee-eaters having a lovely time near the Carillon
tower. Mostly flying, but occasionally swooping down to pick insects out
of the low shrubbery. this is a species that's previously eluded me in the
ACT, although I've seen them regularly out in the Riverina over recent
months. There was a group of red-rumped parrots bathing. In Commonwealth Park there were eight Gang Gangs making quite a racket. Sandra Henderson ********************************** Canberra Ornithologists Group Inc. PO Box 301 Civic Square ACT 2608 Email: Online: www.canberrabirds.org.au |
