yesterday morning I walked through around the lake, and on Aspen Island there were six rainbow bee-eaters having a lovely time near the Carillon tower. Mostly flying, but occasionally swooping down to pick insects out of the low shrubbery. this is a species that's previously eluded me in the ACT, although I've seen them regularly out in the Riverina over recent months. There was a group of red-rumped parrots bathing.  
In Commonwealth Park there were eight Gang Gangs making quite a racket.
