Although I know there are a pair in the area and I often see evidence
of their feeding (pigeon heads and feet and blood stains around the
Woden offices), it's not often I get a good look at them.

Today from the first floor windows of the Southern Cross Gym in Irvine
Street, Woden, about 6.30am I saw a Peregrine shoot past at a distance
of less than 20 feet. I could see every feather and the expression on
its face (I think it was thinking, 'pigeon for breakfast!'). Difficult
to gauge relative size with only one bird, but it was very chunky, so
I guess a female.

Also of note, because unusual in the area, were two Black Swan flying
over Hughes a little while later (moving from Lake BG to Tuggeranong I
guess, but we haven't had them over the house before).
