Subject: Re: Cause for action?
Greetings!
The message is blatantly advertising & also
of a political nature. However the event's raison d'etre does
have the potential to affect birds.
On Tuesday 3rd February from
8am there is to be a gathering at Parliament House.
Hundreds of people from around the country will form a human circle
around Parliament House on the first sitting day of the new session of
Parliament to stand together and demand urgent action on climate change.
Since productive early-rising is part of the
psyche of bird-watchers PLEASE WOULD YOU PLAN AHEAD & JOIN THE
CROWD FOR THIS ACTIVITY?
There's a website for further details www.climatesummit.org.au
It also shows that the encircling of Parliament is the culmination of 3 days
of workshops & activities based at ANU.
There is no doubt that climate change is
affecting countless species including many favourite birds. There is an urgent
need to reiterate to Australian politicians that, collectively, they are
being far too ineffective & slow on CLIMATE CHANGE. Most politicians do
not seem to realise that, also high on the species casualty list, is Homo
sapiens.
Please join in or at least ensure your
own 'networks' are given the chance to participate.
Thank you,
Rosemary
