Peter,

I was walking up that way again today (Red Hill Reserve, above west Deakin). The nesting box with bees in it has the number DKG6 in texta on the underside. The bees are still there.

Immediately up the hill into the Reserve, there's an older nesting box with a large number "8" painted on the side. It also has a bee colony in it.

Further west along the path above Deakin there's another new nesting box, with the marking DKG3 underneath it. This one had a young (? not fully coloured) Crimson Rosella in it that poked its head out and looked like it was expecting to be fed. :-)

Thanks David, I'll pass this on.

The nest boxes are new plywood boxes put up about 3 months ago, all about 3m above ground, in lots of 10 to 15, about 20 to 100 m apart in reserves with suburbs backing onto them. Each has an individual number written on the bottom in black texta.
Regards
Peter
