Hello All,
3.30 - 4.00pm,  14 Superb Parrots in park west of Wybalena Grove roosting in 2 eucalypts about half way along and next to the cycle path.  Some were feeding young. Also heard other SPs nearby. Weather felt humid and hot (to Canberra standard).

7.00 - 8.00pm SPs flying around and under the trees, sometimes at head height, in singles or pairs in the park. They seemed to be flying just for the joy of it and some were flying most of the the time. Others were sitting in trees up to about 8 per tree, some feeding young.  About half appeared to be dependent young.

33 congregated in a tree near Lyttleton Cr around 8.00pm before flying north across Lyttleton Cr in groups of up to 10 birds presumably to roost somewhere else. Still very warm and humid

It was a memorable experience seeing them flying around at dusk with storm clouds threatening and so many juveniles present.

Merry Christmas
Peter
