Whether typical or not, I don't know but the pair which visited my garden in
Page a couple of years back had three youngsters in tow. b

Subject: O'Connor: Rainbow Lorikeets
The local (O'Connor) Rainbow Lorikeet twosome have produce a youngster.
They have been around since late July so the timing suggests that they
must have been pretty happy to see all those flowering Red Ironbarks
(/E. sideroxylon/) when they arrived! The prospects for junior look
very good with several large Yellow Box (/E. meliodora/) already in
flower and an abundance of Argyle Apple (/E. cinerea/) blossom also
available. /Callistemon/ /spp./ are also flowering in abundance, so
much so that the Red Wattlebirds have all but given up chasing each
other! Interestingly, the Rainbow Lorikeets still spend a lot of time
in the large Blakely's Red Gums that are not yet blossoming but still
heavily lerp infested.
A question: does anyone know what the typical brood size is for Rainbow
Lorikeet in the COG area?
cheers
