Most of the recent reports of Koel have not been from GBS sites.  However, looking at 27 years of GBS results by week (see attached image) suggests that in past years the influx has been more pronounced starting a couple of weeks from now.  So I would say that I agree with you that there are more reports than in the past.

I don't recall so many spring observations  in previous years.  It looks as though this species has undergone a significant change of status.  Interestingly, Red Wattlebird breeding activity is the highest I have observed in our area.  The sound of begging young is omnipresent.  Is there a link?
