I covered 5 grids in the broad area of Kowen Forest today.  There were not a great number of bords around, which surprised me in view of the large amount of eucalypt blossom and the brilliant weather.  I recorded 38 species in my grids, with the most surprising (for the time of year) being an immature Flame Robin. As would be expected from the large amount of pine trees in the area, Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos were found in several places, typically munching on cones.
