The nests (likely of Blackbirds) have been collected, for use as
speaking aids in educational presentations on birds. I'm sure their
original builders (whose descendants are still nesting here) would be
pleased.

Though I don't know if they are much use if we aren't certain whose nests they are. Collecting feathers and other bits (and eggs that I don't think any of us would do these days) requires a permit. Probably doesn't apply to nests. Philip |
