I've been walking this afternoon on the Hughes side of Red Hill and noticed a complete absence of little birds, and a corresponding large number of Pied Currawongs. There were literally dozens, flapping around, harassing other birds (including a pair of Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos) and calling loudly. Are these non-breeding birds going around in parties, or is it part of a migration back to the ranges? On a quieter part of the Hill I also saw a White-winged Triller and a Sacred Kingfisher. -- John Leonard Canberra Australia www.jleonard.net ******************************************************************************************************* This is the email announcement and discussion list of the Canberra Ornithologists Group.
