I pre-empted myself a couple of days ago when I suggested that the ripening mistletoe fruits could be tempting for Painted Honeyeaters. Well, they aren't too far away. I was out this morning (Wed) on a farm along the Yass River Rd and found a couple of Painted Honeyeaters in a Red Stringybark - Red Box remnant. The Red Box in particular was festooned with mistletoe. The birds were calling frequently so it would be worth listening for their call in the local woodlands.
