One Olive-backed Oriole calling in (Upper) Carwoola this morning.  Like the Woodswallows I reported earlier it seemed to be travelling along a ridge, rather than in either the Molonglo or Whiskers Creek valleys.

As an aside I read a comment by Joe Lieberman (when he was Democratic nominee for Vice Pres of USA, rather than his current situation of not being Replublican nominee) in which he was critical of 'trickle down economics'.  He likened that theory to "the old idea that the best way to get more feed to birds is to give the horse more oats."
