A pair of Masked Lapwings appears to have started nesting this
week on the weedy bank on the corner of Russell Drive and
Reg Saunders Way, Russell.

The female has been sitting in the same place for several days,
presumably on eggs. Its mate swooped a bloke attempting to walk
across the area this afternoon; he wisely decided that going
around the path was a better option.
