this might not be very helpful, but from memory (10-14 yrs ago) and from other rock warbler experiences: Just sit still and watch them hop around on the rocks.
We saw them right up on top of Pidgeon House every time we went up there.
My experience is that they are not very shy und come very close. (But then I would have said that also of Lyrebirds until I heard Ian Frazer talking about them on 666 a couple of weeks ago.)
I have seen rockwarblers also in Kangaroo Valley, were the cliffs are more exposed than not, including a nest in a cave. Though this was on private property.
