Hi

Further to Bob's earlier sightings I caught up with a Black Bittern at Narrawallee Inlet on 16th and 17th july.
Brett also got some video of a White-fronted Tern not to mention the Origma and Olive Whistler on Pigeon House.
I dipped on sighting the bob ruskus  for which I apologise and will catchup next time.

cheers
Richard

Hi!

My twitching down here has been mainly out to sea and along the seashore since the coming of winter. The main sightings have been the many albatrosses and shearwaters, including a wandering albatross. Yesterday afternoon though on my way to the lookout at Warden Head I heard on the news that a pod of Killer Whales had been sighted on the far south coast. At about 4.45pm at app 4klm out I sighted what I believe to be at least 2 of them. They were harrassing another whales,( humpbacks?) and whether any had a calf I couldn't tell but I watched the chase heading towards Jervis Bay until darkness stopped me,what happened after that I don't know. Also last week at Lake Tabourie entrance in the middle of the day, in the open, with absolutley no cover whatsoever, there was a single Night Bittern paddling around the shallows. Ive been back a couple of times to no avail, maybe choosing the wrong times as I've been there early morning and on dusk.

cheers
Bob Rusk
