Hi!
At   3.30 this avro at Warden Head ,Ulladulla, I spotted a WB Sea-eagle a long way out to sea, flying in towards shore. As it approached I could see it had something like a large fish in its talons.   It was only when it alighted on the reef that I recognized it for what it was, a unfortunate "still struggling "Fairy Penguin , I watched while it plucked and then began to eat some before flying off and taking it else-where.   I wonder if this is the same eagle I watched unsuccessfully  hunt the multitude of Fluttering Shearwaters a couple of days before.   The  sea birds have been been in abundance here ,ranging  from albatrosses to fairy prions, with Whales ,Seals and Dolphins surfacing at regular intervals to break the tedium of all these birds. With all this outside activity I really must remember to put my T shirt  or blockout on at least  when out twitching but with the glorious sun and warm wind on my back ,I do forget, but then again your probably experiencing the same type of weather (smirk smirk).
Cheers
