after missing seeing these on all previous visits, this morning in the
gloom and fog it took me literally only a minute to find two Bassian
thrushes at the ANBG.  almost directly opposite the cafe, in the
rainforest gully but only a metre or so off the main path past the gully,
two foraging in the undergrowth. one came to within about 2 metres of me
before wandering away again and the other was alternately hopping down the
path and fossicking in the leaf litter.
