Avian highlights for the weekend in reverse
chronological order:

Falcons observed from the front verandah of our humble shack in west
Queanbeyan
-Sunday morning : a White-throated
Treecreeper walking backwards ~60cm (2ft in the old money) down

narrow hollow and emerged a few seconds later from a higher opening on the side
of the trunk and clambered back down in reverse-gear to redo the
inspection.)
- Saturday arvo: four raptors in half an hour: a
pair of Black-shouldered Kites and a Nankeen
Kestrel at Queanbeyan Sewage Ponds, an immature Little
Eagle near Newline and shortly thereafter a pair of
Wedge-tailed Eagles visble through the clear winter? air a
couple of km's south of Newline.
- Saturday morning: a female Superb
Parrot at Campbell Park.
