Hello Philip did the bird by any chance be this one (see photo attached). The bird has been in residence in BB for at least three years and is not a hybrid but a lecustic bird.
Cheers!

At Batemans Bay (surely that should be Batemen Bay or Bateman's Bay) on Friday we saw an odd Galah or maybe a hybrid. It was at the picnic spot on the left just before going over the bridge after turning south off onto the Princess Highway. The bird is partly grey as usual for a Galah but mostly an uneven white on the wings and back. The pink underparts were rather more apricot hued than usual. The inner webs of the primaries (as in visible only on the spread underwing at least on one side) were yellow like in a S-c Cockatoo. The crest feathers were longer and more pointed than for a usual Galah and with more pink. The shape was like a Galah except that it had bare blue-grey skin around the eye very much like a Corella. All that to me suggests a Galah X Corella hybrid. It was associating with a normal looking Galah. This was a closer look at a very similar bird that I recall seeing at exactly the same location about 5 years ago.
