Sulphur Crested Cockatoo help

I wonder if someone with special interest in/knowledge of sccs couldtell me whether the bird in my photo is very old, very young, sick or "other".The bird closer to it responded repeatedly to its loud pleading overthe afternoon by feeding it. Is this parenting or atruism?
