Julian Tehs photo is of a male black headed gouldian finch
of the white breasted (autosomal recessive) mutation. We had a meeting of the
Canberra Finch Club last night
(Tuesday) . I will ask the CFC members to keep an eye open for the
Gouldian.
I agree with Philip V in that weather may mean the
bird is unlikely to survive, but a greater problem is predators and with my GBS
site having up to 28 pied currawongs, escapee finches dont have much chance of
surviving.
