On Friday I went to Uriarra crossing. 2 wedgetailed eagles caught a
thermal, soaring low to very high. Then a whistling kite flew in from
the North, calling, and harassed a large flock of sc cockatoos (100) and
galahs (25). Rosellas were also flying fast and ducks moved into the
centre of the river. I have never seen sc cockatoos so frightened and
agitated, circling/flying in tight flocks, and giving high pitched alarm
calls I have never heard before. Similar to a noisy miner call.
