Hi Con

Having checked out the meaning of lumper : my dictionary offers

     1. A labourer employed in loading and unloading cargoes, esp. timber
     2. A kind of river-thief
3.Taxonomy. A taxonomist who is unwilling to use minute variations
as a basis for the establishment of a large number of different species or genera.

and deduced you were intending meaning 3, I'd have to say no chance.
Somebody in an earlier post noted that Great Egrets are no longer that, but rather Eastern Great Egrets.
This would point in the direction of splinterers rather than lumpers.

and thanks to all, especially Geoffrey, who contributed to the egret discussion.
I have had to reshuffle my photos a bit but I think I have got them, egrets, under control, at least until a Little Egret flies by.
