Julienne,
Please refer to my posting yesterday (14/5) for details. There are some 30
birds there but possibly more.
They do not stay in one place but tend to move around quite a bit. I
suggest parking in the car park at the bike track in Stromlo Forest Park.
Then wander down past the grandstand and onto the track or wander south
from the car park in the direction of the ACT Bushfire Memorial.
Another option is to walk from the car park towards the large dam in the NE
section of the park as they can be found near the water sometimes.
They aren't too difficult to find when the whole flock takes flight or when
they are foraging on the ground on bare earth or short grass.
I also believe that a pair of chats are nesting at one spot but will need
to confirm that.
Cheers

At our meeting last night a group of 40 W-fCs was reported at Mt Stromlo.
Does anyone know where they were and if they would still be around?
Julienne
