Yesterday in our backyard the usual Cockies were strung out along the telephone lines along the back fence when two Gang-gangs dropped in and perched on the lines. One Cockatoo tried to evict the nearest Gang-gang by hovering over him and pecking and squawking at him. However the Gang-gang ducked low, defending himself vigorously. For 30 seconds or so there was an almighty din, squawks versus angry creaking. In the end the Cockatoo flew off shrieking with anger and all his friends joined him in flight. The Gang-gangs were left creaking in satisfaction on the lines. It's very difficult when you see things like this not to believe that birds experience similar emotions to ourselves. -- John Leonard Canberra Australia www.jleonard.net =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
