Howdy All,
Interesting afternoon in my garden this afternoon...... in the last
half hour, as well as the usual Eastern Spinebills, I've seen a flock
of a half dozen Yellow Faced HE and what I am fairly sure were two
White Naped HE (either that or a Black Chinned, but the distribution
pattern for that would have me thinking it was more likely to be a
White Naped). I've never seen the latter here before..... what an
elegant bird! Looks a bit like it's all dressed up for a night out
as the markings are so clean and crisp. The other unusual bird was a
Willie Wagtail, which I have seen or heard here about 3 times only in
the last 12 years, and this one was having a bath in our garden for
the first time ever. I'm rather glad to have been at home in my
office and happening to glance out at just the right times (the
"splash and dash" in the birdbaths alerted me to HEs of some
description). Very, very cool. <grin>
Cheers.
