Hi

We had two magpie larks which were always around - the female I think was one of the chicks from last year, and the male is the demented one who spends many hours attacking our windows. They were always together, but the female was very aggressive, fighting parrots and crested pigeons,  and attacking them with her claws. Two days ago I saw them sitting outside the window, each standing on his/her right leg as in the photos. The left left was hidden in the stomach feathers. They were there for some time, and I have not seen the female since. I wondered if she had hurt her leg in one of her battles, and he was mimicking her in  tucking the sore leg away.

I wonder if anybody has a more sensible explanation?

Thank you

Charmian Lawson
