I know it's unlikely, but we appear to have a
Little Wattlebird in our garden. Last week I had a fairly good look (it was in
the hakea just outside my office window) - clearly similar to, but smaller than,
our long term resident Red Wattlebirds, with no wattle and no yellow on abdomen,
and a rusty reddishness on the wing.
Yesterday my partner (George) saw an unfamiliar
bird in the birdbath, having a great time and 'cackling' in a way that he
was not familiar with.
I think I just glanced it quickly passing by
my office window, stopping briefly for some insects at the edge of the panes
(not sure, as I did have my eyes on work ...)
any advice?
cheers
Barbara
