For those going to Chiltern, Rhonda and I called in on the way past recently.  We visited Cyanide Dam and Bartley’s Farm.  Both sites, like the rest of the district, were extremely dry with no water in any of the dams.  There were a few birds around though.  We saw Turquoise Parrots, Yellow-tufted Honeyeaters, Peaceful Doves, Eastern Yellow Robins and Crested Shrike-tit at both sites.  At Cyanide Dam there were also Brown and White-throated Treecreepers, Fuscous Honeyeaters, Common Bronzewings and Yellow-rumped and Brown Thornbills.  At Bartleys, Farm we saw lots of Striated Pardalotes (mostly substriatus), Mistletoebirds, Red-capped Robins, Jacky Winters and Grey Shrike-thrush.  Have a good trip.

Regards
