I do not want to appear pedantic, but wrong spellings are highly
contagious. The name of the co-author is Walter BOLES.
A hotspot for Sally Bowles, as watchers of the movie Cabaret
will know, was around Berlin, although not seen there these days. The
species Parker-Bowles is pretty much confined to the UK (see Wikipedia for
examples of the variable use of the hyphen). Despite the similarity in
name, both those species are unrelated to Christidis&Boles.

It is imperative that we align COG exactly with Birds
Australia on this. We exchange data with them, so any RAOU number changes
should be in complete accordance with what they do.
I will discuss this with Andrew Silcocks database manager at Birds
Australia. BA needs to make a decision and inform the wider membership
and affiliated organizations.
When a change is then decided by the COG Committee, after
consultation with the membership, we can then make the changes required to our
existing databases and input programs.
By the way, I assume 1101 is the RAOU number for hybrid C-E
Rosella? I haven’t checked yet.
Cheers
Paul

May I suggest we stay as we are until Tony Lawson has completed his
review for the Committee.

Have the new
names in C&B been officially endorsed by Birds Aus or BOCA?
